About ISTO
The Irish Student Trampolining Open (ISTO) is an annual non-profit event run voluntarily by 8 student and former student trampolinists from six universities across Ireland.
Preparation begins in July and culminates in a 3-day competition, usually held in March or April.
The Irish Student Trampoline Open has been very successfully running since 2001 and is now the largest trampolining competition in Ireland, and the largest student-run trampolining competition in Europe.
In 2019, the 18th anniversary of ISTO, over 600 competitors attended the competition, alongside numerous volunteer judges, scorekeepers, marshals and competition organisers who helped to make the competition a great success.
ISTO is attended annually by 40 different Irish, Northern Irish, Welsh, Scottish and English student trampolining clubs, and in recent years the competition has attracted interest internationally from French, Dutch and German trampoline clubs.
Competitors at ISTO 2021 can compete in four events: Individual Trampoline (TRA),
Synchronised trampoline (SYN), Double Mini Trampoline (DMT), and Tumbling (TUM). Clubs
train to battle it out for team medals and most important achievement the ISTO Shield
Cheerleading is also a relatively new addition to ISTO. The competition aims to include all ability
levels, from beginners competing at novice level, to National-level Elite competitors.
Unfortunately, ISTO 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus. In its place we held a fun ISTOnline competition and sent out ISTO packages, containing all the ISTO t-shirt and leotard orders, along with a few extra goodies.
